Auckland rates explained : An Auckland rates bill has three parts: the fixed Uniform Annual General Charge (UAGC), a value-based general rate (business properties pay 31% of general rates), and targeted rates. The 2026/27 average rise is 7.9%. From 2027/28 the Long-term Plan 2024–2034 forecasts average rises of no more than 3.5% a year (a forecast, not a cap). Source: Auckland Council Annual Plan 2026/2027 and Long-term Plan 2024-2034. Checked 19 Oct 2026.

How are Auckland's local boards funded? : Auckland's 21 local boards have budgets of about $515.4 million for operating spending and $236.5 million for capital spending in 2026/2027, up from $490.9 million and $212.3 million in 2025/2026 ( Annual Plan 2026/2027, Volume 2, section 1.3 ). The general-rates part is shared by an equity formula: 80% population, 15% deprivation and 5% land area ( Local Board Funding Policy 2025 ). Checked 21 Oct 2026.

Public surveys : these are opt-in forms, not lodged petitions.
